Switch and Data has launched a new practice to address the content and entertainment market.
The practice is intended to enhance Switch and Data’s current offerings with expertise to assist digital media and online gaming companies design, develop, and deploy infrastructure solutions to support their businesses.
Switch and Data has appointed David Reitman, previously with AT&T, as vice president to develop and lead the practice.
Mr. Reitman formerly led AT&T's Digital Media & Online Game Services effort, which supported what is believed to be the world's largest massively multi-layer online game (MMOG), as well as other MMOG and digital content sites globally.
Reitman said, "The infrastructure needs of the leaders in the content and entertainment industries - from power and cooling to network connectivity and bandwidth - are huge. Switch and Data’s facilities satisfy these needs and offer the PAIX peering exchange and a broad geographic footprint in North America. Thee capabilities can help customers to improve the end-user experience by placing content closer to their end-users".
